Upgrade of macromolecular crystallography beamline BL17U1 at SSRF

【摘要】BeamlineBL17U1atShanghaiSynchrotronRadiationFacilityisanenergy-tunablemacromolecularcrystallographybeamlinethathasbeeninuseroperationsince2009.Growingdemandfromtheusercommunityforasmallbeamandrelatedexperimentalmethodshavemotivatedupgradesofthedevicesintheendstation.Minibeammodeshavealreadybeendevelopedforoperation.Aself-integrateddiffractometerreducesthesphereofconfusionoftherotatoryaxisto1lm.Thenewdiffractometerisequippedwithanupgradedon-axisviewingsystemthatcanimprovetheresolvingpower.Additionally,theareadetectorwasalsoupgradedtothenewestgenerationofdetectors,theEIGERX16M,whichcancollectdataat133Hz.Aftertheseupgrades,theendstationbecamevirtuallynew.Thispapercoverstheupgradeoftheendstationdevicesandgivesthefirstdatacollectionresults.
